There are so many positive benefits, both physical and mental when you train. The brain is highly adaptable and can be trained in conjunction. You will develop your mental strength as well as physical fitness!
TaeKwonDo is very popular as it was introduced in the United States in the 1950s. The basis of this martial art is the fact that your legs are the strongest part of your body; you use them everyday therefore the muscles in your legs are constantly being strengthened. So from a self defense perspective, why wouldn't you want to use the strongest and longest parts of your body to defend yourself?

TaeKwonDo Martial Arts is Good for Kids!
Here's an excerpt from an article on www.health.com about some of the benefits of class from long term training.
"Martial arts such as tae kwon do have been shown to increase homework completion, academic performance, and classroom preparation while decreasing classroom misbehavior in children [...] "Any exercises that involve the coordination of complex movement stimulate the brain activities," says Dr. Gimpel."
TaeKwonDo Martial Arts is GREAT for Adults & Teens Too!
Contrary to popular belief, TKD martial arts isn't just for kids.
Everyone can really benefit from a good variable intensity interval workout, as well as some self-defense, of course. It's a challenge but not in the sense the martial art stereotype carries. Adult classes are tailored differently with modified goals for a better, friendlier, easy-to-understand learning environment.
Miss USA 2014, Nia Sanchez, is a 4th Degree Black Belt. We've had the privilege of training and working out with her over the years. She's definitely got some kicks!
